After a long search I finally found a solution to a problem a few people (including myself) have with the CineDash Media Console that follow with the 6920G and the 8920G and probably other model's aswell...

The problem was that Launch Manager did not have any config settings that would allow you to use the Media Console with anything else than Windows Media Player, atleast I couldnt make it work with other player.
Yet when you uninstalled Launch Manager you could use the Play/Next/Prev/Stop keys with winamp, but not the Volume Control.

I found a solution for making the Play/Next/Prev/Stop keys work with Launch Manager installed, though I diddnt find a solution for the Forward/Rewind keys, but maybe someone can comment on how that can be done when I have explained but I did and how to "fix" the Media Console...

Back up your MMKEYBD.cfg file before you do anything just in case you dont like my fix ;P ...

Oh yeah and this fix is only tested for winamp so dont expect it work on all media player, though im pretty sure it will if the buttons worked before you installed Launch Manager ;P ...

If you dont want the explanation just the "fix" to make Play/Stop/Forward/Prev put THIS file into your Launch Manager folder and they should work...

Some one mentioned to me that the MMKEYBD.cfg file in the Launch Manager folder controls what the "special" keys that Launch Manager is in charges of does. So I started messing arround with the "code" if you can call it that, and think I found out a few thinks, first of all....

    Key 25 = 1,E0,24,E0,A4,F5F9,Stop
    Key 26 = 1,E0,22,E0,A2,F5F8,Play/Pause
    Key 27 = 1,E0,10,E0,90,F5F6,Previous
    Key 28 = 1,E0,19,E0,99,F5F7,Next Track

these are the lines that controls the buttons I changed...
Also worth noting is that when these 4 lines dont work probably for one or the other reason they start getting controlled (it seemed to me) by the commands in the buttom of the .cfg file

    [Common HotKey Hook for WinNT]
    Key Count = 8
    Key #0 = 1,B3,22,1,1,F5F8,Play/Pause
    Key #1 = 1,B2,24,1,1,F5F9,Stop
    Key #2 = 1,B1,10,1,1,F5F6,Previous
    Key #3 = 1,B0,19,1,1,F5F7,Next Track
    Key #4 = 1,FF,5A,1,1,F5D0,Record
    Key #5 = 1,AD,0,1,1,0500,Mute(RC)
    Key #6 = 1,AF,0,1,1,0501,Volume Up(RC)
    Key #7 = 1,AE,0,1,1,0502,Volume Down(RC)

The thing I wanted to do was to disable Launch Managers Control over key 25-28 so they would go back to the way they were before I installed Launch Manager, but at the same time not disable the whole CineDash console, which seems to happend when you just remove the lines...

So I replaced the 4 keys with a function that was already taken, I have no clue why the replacational fuctions i put in instead of the original ones dont "work" like you might think they would but maybe some one else here does ;P...

Here's how the Lines look ...

    Key 24 = 1,E0,34,E0,B4,F509,Dollar Symbol (Original Code)
    Key 25 = 1,E0,34,E0,B4,F509,Dollar Symbol (Copy Code?)
    Key 26 = 1,E0,34,E0,B4,F509,Dollar Symbol (Copy Code?)
    Key 27 = 1,E0,34,E0,B4,F509,Dollar Symbol (Copy Code?)
    Key 28 = 1,E0,34,E0,B4,F509,Dollar Symbol (Copy Code?)

It seems to me that once a Button Code have been assigned to a Key it cant be overwritten, so then it tries to use the Code in the buttom of the file and since I removed when there is not much its able to do other than to return the buttons to the "non-LaunchManager-controlled-state" in which it will work with winamp :) ...

I hope this makes sence to someone and I hope im not just talking complete bull**** here but this is how it seemed to me, I am by no measurement a programmer or anything like that ;P ...

If anyone figures out how to actually replace a buttons function, like that StickFigure key that opens Media Center/Acer Arcade Deluxe please let me know, but for now im pretty happy with how my CineDash works so such replacement would only be luxury :) ....

I tried it on my 6920G, doesn't work. what version of winamp are you using and did you make any changes in winamp key preferences to make this work?

newest winamp version, and currently I just have Global Hotkeys Enabled in Winamp so ;P ... I dunno if its different with the 6920G but atleast on my 8920G its able to control winamp without the Launch Manager, so dunno if this fix would work for you unless you can Control winamp without Launch Manager program ;P ...

    Hi Guys and Gals!

I've had a play around and the 'StickFigure' key can be changed in the registry...

    • Run 'regedit' and navigate to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Iventec\LManager\Settings\Buttons\Arcade Deluxe'

    • Change the 'Command' string to the path of the app that you want to run

    • Change the 'Command Type' string to '3' (without the quotes)

    • Change the 'Label' string to whatever message you want to be displayed on the screen when you press the button

    Voila! Problem Solved! :)

Great work, Newk and ratking99! Now I actually can use the fancy cinedash control :) ff/rew also works, but only as a 5 sec. skip function, when you tap the key.

I could'nt get the stickfigure button to work. Instead of starting winamp, it now starts Windows Media Center (?). But I have configured the back key to Winamp. I have also changed the color on the osd, and it seems like the font also can be changed.

thnx very much for the tip ratking99 but I don't have that registry key. I have Lmanager installed but when I browse the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ folder, there is no 'Iventec' folder in it. any ideas?

Paddii, please don't bump old topics. This thread hasn't been touched in over EIGHT MONTHS, and is pretty much dead.
In the future, please keep the date of the most recent post in mind.

    You forgot to greet him.
    Welcome to NBR, Paddii.
Darrickmartin(if not wrong) does mentioned this in the AS6920G Owner Lounge. It seems it is not working for Windows 7 64bit if not mistaken(from darrickmartin).

    EDIT: confirmed darrickmartin, http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=252269&page=76

    @Newk:
you dont have to replace commands with existing ones, you can just comment them with putting ";;" in front of the line and then just rearrange command numbers incremental.

this is how my command list on acer 6935g looks like:

    @ratking99
key path can be different for different OS. mine (win 7 x64) is:
so if you cant find it use search.
also on other laptop models button is called differently (like "My Acer")...

I have just installed windows 7 on acer 6935. All is fine except the volume control on cine dash. I cant control the volume precisely although rest controls work just fine. When I was using Vista, it was working accurately. Any solutions?
