I have an Acer Travelmate 5520 with the Crystal Eye web cam. I havent used it (but it was working originally)and when I did want to use it I received the message "camera not found". In Device Manager there is no heading for Imaging Devices. I have downloaded updated drivers but the problem seems to be recognising the hardware.
As with all things it is just out of warranty!
I cannot find anything on any sites to help solve the problem.
Does anyone have any ideas??

Have you updated your bios lately? Post your operating system, camera type (Crystal Eye Webcam is not sufficient) and drivers you have tried out. I've got the same problem if you think it would be helpful you could check forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=306802

Operating System is Vista 32 Bit, I have'nt tweaked (nor would want to) the Bios. I don't know ther make of camera as I can't find it listed in device manager.
I have downloaded two sets of drivers, Suyin and Bison, but I don't know what the correct one should be but neither work.
I have stopped getting the message "camera not found" just now instead a programme window for Acer Crystal Eye Webcam opens but nothing else happens. -
Do you have got originally preinstalled vista or you have installed/reinstalled it?

Original Vista is installed with no restore action or re-installation having taken place.

I'm having same problem. Aspire 4530. Webcam didn't work coming out of box. Nothing in device manager and have tried all drivers (Bison, Suyin). Nothing helps. Get black crystal eye screen and nothing happens when I click on the "gear".
