Are the Acer Total Notebook Protection Bundle or the 2 Year Extended Mail-in Warranty worth the money? They seem very well priced compared to Dell, HP, and others.

I'm not sure of exactly what each of these plans cover. Anyone know for sure?

Also, someone in another thread brought up a very good point. If I'm even thinking of upgrading the HDD to a 7200rpm drive, should I still get either of these services? I'm hoping they would still cover the rest of the notebook, just not the hard drive. I think that's what they do if you upgrade the RAM.

    Any advice? Thanks.

Acer are very good in understanding upgrades people do to their notebooks. And you'll have to be a pretty stong idiot to much up a hard drive replacement.
I have the 3 Year accidental damage warenty, and from reading the contents it seems a pretty good buy. I payed £99 for the Accidental damage which compared to others seemed like a steal. 5 day turnaround for repairs. Seems pretty good.

I'm not worried about hurting the laptop or screwing up the upgrade. But if I have to cut through a sticker on the HDD access door that states "warranty void if seal is broken", it seems that I shouldn't do the upgrade or I shouldn't buy the extended warranty.

This is unless they will still warranty the rest of the computer, excluding the upgraded parts. Anyone have any experience with this?
