Hey, i'm new on this forum, but not new to forums. Anyway,

I have an Acer Extensa 2303LC which i have upgraded with 512 extra RAM and i want to know if there is any way whatsoever at all that i can upgrade my video ram from 64mb to at least 128  . The video card is an INTEL 828/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller. I want to know if there is a cheap way of enhancing my Video capabilities? :(

Thanks for any tips, :) :D

The card is itself borrowing memory from your RAM...and you cannot alter the amount it borrows.

If you're looking to game, that card is not going to work for anything less than about 3-4 years old for most applications. Google "Intel Extreme 2 Compatibility List" for some info.

My previous acer was the travelmate 2303wlci which had the same specs as your extensa 2303lc and let me tell you no there is no way to increase the graphics memory above 64mb that is the maximum for the intel 82855 GM/GME chipset. I had 512mb of ram in my travelmate and the max amount of memory that the IGP would use is 64mb. I hope you aren't hoping to play any modern games with that because it simply won't work, and vista aero will not work as well either just in case you were wondering.

Well the laptop is 3 years old. the unfortunate thing is i want an upgrade, but my poor uni student status denies me the privalage. Ah well, not to worry. I'll just have to make do playing sucky games while i wait to upgrade. Never buying a laptop again!!!!! Here's hoping my friend is upgrading his system soon (he's got money unlike me) and has offered me his old desktop (Much better then my heap of crap cheap as chips laptop). Thanks guys
