    hi,

i got an acer extensa 2900 (about 4 years old).

since a few month the computer is freezing after some minutes. if figured out, that is has to be a heat problem, because in a cool/cold environment its running fine.

the problem is, that the fan just turns on once, when i turn on the computer (maybe a selfcheck). after this its not running any more, neither under windows nor linux or in the bios. besides i can not read the cpu-temperature.

a already changed the whole heatsink unit, but without any result. i guess, that maybe the temperature sensor is not working. how can i change this? or may it possible to configure the fan, that it is running all the time?

    thanks for any hints. :)

    ciao mob

benchmark and monitor ur pc via softwares such as RmClock and CPUcool....they might help u to control the temps as well if ur CPU supports it....
