From the beginning you had to depress the power button firmly to get it to turn on and come back from standby or hibernation.

Now it is becoming quite difficult to do either. Has anyone else run into this and any suggestions to repair?

Oh my, i have this same problem

3 months ago, it finally refused to boot whatsoever, so i signed it off as a motherboard failure, and after reseating the RAM and such two times, i gave up, and dismantled it for parts.

I never got around to selling them, and rebuilt it today, out of boredom. Out of nowhere, BAM, works great, but the power switch still has that problem (reseating the processor probably fixed part of it, as it wouldn't start up for anything before)

now, i find that plugging it in, and rapidly pressing the power switch, or pressing it at an angle sometimes works. I came here looking for an answer, to get rid of this problem once and for all.

    Any help, anyone?

I didn't want to have to do this, but *bump*.

I seriously need to get this fixed.
