Hello, this thing is driving me nuts! any help highly apreciated.

My Extensa 5220 came with Win Vista, so I did a partition to install Win XP, when using XP everything worked fine until I switched the external monitor to be the main screen, after that the default monitor didn't work anymore in XP no matter what, but it works fine in Vista.

I have tried re-installing the drivers, then formating the XP partition and re-installing XP, but the problem remains.

I'm completely lost on this one! :(

    Hi,

perhaps your external monitor has become the default screen on your XP installation. Start with the external monitor connected and make sure your internal monitor is default (primary).

Hello Michael, thanks for your reply!

Yes, the external monitor went default forever, I have tried returning the internal to default but it's useless, the screen goes black for a couple of seconds and returns to the external again... it must be something in the hardware that somehow it was overwritten, because even with a deep reformatting of the partition an a clean reinstall of XP it remains.
