Hello boys, i find in this web more and very good information about notebooks, with this information can i upgrade the CPU of my Acer 5715Z from a T2370 to a T7500, and i know this chipset 965 can i ugprade more, but know i have a very good offer to buy a cheap notebook Acer Extensa 5230 with a Celeron M575, and put in this one my T7500 to upgrade this bad cpu celeron.
But, there's always a but, i search information in the web and i think this chipset is not compatible to upgrade a good CPU (not Celeron).
This is the information about notebook:
http://acer.es/acer/product.do?kcon...x1.att21k=1&rcond9e.c2att92=109&CRC=881822314
And this about chipset (GL40), look at information about only CPU's Celeron![]()
http://www.intel.com/products/notebook/chipsets/gl40/gl40-overview.htm
Please, can you help me and give information about is it possible or not upgrade CPU in this notebook ???
Thanks a lot and best regards from Barcelona, Spain![]()

Apparently the GL40 support Penryns and the new dual cores(check this thread) but it seems that it's very possible that the BIOS won't support it. I think at this point you can safely upgrade to T3200 or T3400. I don't think T7500 will work(it's an old Merom for GL960/GM965 Santa Rosa platform), but it WILL work in your 5715Z(I have the same notebook and I upgraded to T7500).
Keep in mind I'm not sure about all I said above
Edit: Hey Barcelona, greetings from Madrid -
