please help me too, I get the same problem as greensocks.
the acer website does not help at all.
the Empowering technology turns out, that the rectangle PreSystem was installing its drives, but i waited for a long time, but could not move up.

I reformatted my laptop (been 1 year since i bought it) and is now getting this problem, as well as some sort of runxmlpl.exe problem.

serious answers only please, no "go return it" "go to acer's website for help"

    thank you so much.

Runxmlpl.exe has something to do with the detecting of the hardware(when installing drivers for example). Have you upgraded something on your laptop? By "reformatting my laptop" you mean you did a RECOVERY or you formatted the drive and install the OS from a CD? If you did a RECOVERY did the recovery process got interrupted by something?

oh, by reformatting, it means recover to original factory settings. I did it twice, and both trials were not interrupted. Is there a way to remove that?

    Thanks a lot!

as for the acer PreSystem thing, I deleted the lanapps (it's responsible for it) through searching. I don't think it will appear anymore.
