This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Hello all.

    I have had my ACER laptop running Vista a few weeks now, and I have found that sometimes the volume seems to go up and down when I am listening to music (winamp) or watching films (Windows Media Player).

    Has anyone else experienced this or have a possible solution? Perhaps it is a hardware problem, or maybe a Vista problem? I am using External Speakers (Yamaha) and they've been working ok for years on various other laptops.
