Yesterday, soon after installing Adobe Reader upgrade, I went to increase the sound volume (I had it on zero) and saw a red x next to the sound icon.

When I check "sound" on the control panel, I get the message that "no audio device is installed".

Don't know if Adobe Reader had anything to do with it - I am NOT a computer geek by a long shot, but I'd like to listen to videos

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

do a system restore (see Windows help for instructions). Then ditch Adobe Reader and switch to a much less bloated software with better security record. I am very happy with "PDF X-Change Viewer" from www.tracker-software.com
