    Hi,

I have an Acer Extensa 4220, and based on its manual, it says there's a WPAN: bLUETOOTH 2.0+edr (Enabled Data Rate) communication device, and there's even a front-access communication switch for the Bluetooth. But when I try to turn it on, it says that make sure your bluetooth is connected.

Any suggestion on how I can solve this problem?

    Thanks alot :)

Is the Bluetooth device shown in the device manager ??

(Are you sure it has a BT module ?)

not all ACER's with a bluetooth button actually have the BLUETOOTH hardware installed...

you should see a BLUETOOTH device in the DEVICE manager if you have the required hardware...

ACER likes to claim BLUETOOTH compatibility even though the hardware isn't there.... but since it can be installed, techincally it is compatible w/ BT...

    another case of slick marketing...

if in doubt call acer and verify if your model has the bluetooth adapter actually installed...

if not an EBAY seller named OLDEGG sells aftermarket BlueTooth internal adapters for ACER laptops
