It's not just me - I 've had a few friends even more geeky than me try to fix this! None of us can get this computer to save a new theme or a new background! I can certainly change it, apply and save OK..but if I log out and then log back in - everything is back to square one.

This should be a dead simple thing to do yet something is wrong. I've checked and there seems to be no policies that affect this setting. It's driving (scuze the pun!) me crazy! I want the default background changed because the fuzzy icons are sometimes difficult to pick out. Other than that (and the fact that the fan is ALWAYS running) I could not be happier.

One other thing - I did purchase an extended warranty but the retailer did not have a certificate when I picked up my Ferrari, and said he would snail mail it to me when he got it in. Is this typical? I have not registered my computer yet as I am waiting for this extended warranty. Also, when I did go to their site to register orginally, it claims my serial number is not valid? What's up with that?

I had a similar issue with a client once, and I think we ended up removing and recreating the user profile. Not the smoothest solution, but hey...

For what's it worth, this has been resolved by going into the register and removing ferrari wallpaper. Seems whatever profile i was saving was being overwritten by this start up file.
