I was talking to a sales rep at a local computer store, and he told me that Acer discontinued the Ferrari 4005. BS or truth? I was going to buy one, but the store didn't have stock because of the supposed discontinuation. However, if there's truth to his claim, then I might be better off waiting for the Ferrari refresh, assuming there's one in the pipeline. Thanks!

I find it hard to believe that it was discontinued. The notebook was only realeased about 5 months ago - surely it has a longer lifespan than that. And, I don't see what kind of components they would put in it that would make a big difference. Probably BS.

That's what I thought also, but I needed to hear that from someone else. Thanks.

Unless they are updating the 4005 to a 4006 with a MT line, no way its gonna happen...

BS. I could still order them from ACER.
I think he just wanted to sell you something else.
Don't trust a store that does that!

So the "only" difference between the 4005 and 4006 is 200MHz? I can definitely deal with that! I'm surprised Acer came up with this update considering Yonah is right around the corner and there are new ATI cards out also.
