i plan on buying the acer ferrari 4005. umm kinda stupid question but, can this laptop use two batteries at the same time?

i currently have a dell latitude c610 and it takes two, and runs twice as long on them.

can the same thing be said for the Ferrari 4005?

It doesn't look like it, I'm guessing the dell has a modular battery which goes into the optical drive tray?

It doesn't look like the OD is removable..

They've recently released a modular bay drive for the TM8104 - which is pretty much identical to the ferrari. I'm guessing that it would fit in the ferrari modular bay but it wouldn't be red to match the paint.
There is a picture of the ferrari with the dvd drive removed here at laptop logic:

and a review of the modular bay battery here at laptop forums:

he claims "~7 hours with everything off except for wireless and scren at 30-40% brightness."

    Good Luck!

i keep editing this thing lol...oh well

so from what i understand i can use the "Acer NBA MediaBay Secondary Battery Pack For Travelmate 8100 Series" for the acer ferarri 4005.

anyone know if the acer aspire 5002 has the same hotswap battery features?

Yes the Ferrari 4005WLMi has a modular bay for optical, an extra HD, extra battery or whatever you need. It's Acers top of the line, so I don't think they have cut back on anything.
