hi i have an acer ferrari 4006

when i'm playing games(like NFS most wanted,PoPersia:warrior within) or any relatively recent games, the notebook heats up like mad and turns off automatically,

Is there anything i can do about it even though it decreases the performance

also while playing any game(any of the above) after a while the sound starts chopping and plays as if its fast forwarded?

    any help appreciated

    thanks

either you have a software problem or a heating issue (or both).

Use the "websters dictionary trick" and prop up the notebook an inch or more in the back with a large book. This will provide better airflow, also please note that the fan will turn on after 50c or so (ish).

Proper cooling is needed for gameplay, please take note of that ^_^

    Hope this helps.

If all else reformat your pc back to stock settings to verify that it is not a software issue. However this should be the last option.

Have you tried any monitoring software to see what termperature your PC gets to?

Ferrari 4006 uses a AMD chip right?

ferrari 4006 does use an AMD chip,i'll try the "webster's dictionary trick" though i'm not sure it'll work

it may be a software problem coz i've been using it for encoding DVDs to xvid etc n i dont think games use more of the processor than encoding.

also tell me abt a prgram to monitor my temperatures

    thanx
