    Acer Ferrari agere systems 97 modem doesnt work

    Can someone please help me to reconfigure my Agere ag systems ac 97 modem It came built into my Acer 3000 ferrari laptop, I have the original install disks for the ferrari etc and have tried to put in the correct settings the options... but when I try to dial up the internet the dialtone (and internet connect noise that sounds like a fax) doesnt sound right and then I get an error that says 'cant stablis connection at other end/or number busy'

    Any advice will be greatly appreciated :)
