I'm seriously considering one of these notebooks; I'll need it for university, and it's going to be my main computer for the next five years.
One question, though; what is the difference between the Turion 64 processor in the Ferrari 4000 and the Mobile 64 in the Ferrari 3400? I must say that the 3400 is aesthetically appealing, but if the Turion offers more performance (and the 4000 gives more ram, more HD space, etc...), then I'll get the 4000, which is only about 100 dollars more expensive than the 3400 at most online vendors.

Turion is less powerful then the a64, but weighs a bit less, and generates less heat with an improved battery life. That's basically it...

Turion 64 is more powerfull than A64 as it has new and improwed memory controller, SSE3 instuctions and other modifications and tweaks.
Clock for clock the Turion 64 is faster. For example: Turion 64 37-ML (rating 3700+) runs at 2.0GHz. While a Mobile/DTR A64 with a rating of 3700+ runs at 2.4GHz.
Turion is the only right choice as of now. The Mobile/DTR socket 754 A64 is dissapearing, it topped out at a 3700+ rating while the socket 754 Turion 64 line has already reached Turion 64 40-ML, a rating of 4000+, and this is just the beginning.
Now if you want the most CPU power you would have to go with a socket 939 a64 based notebook. There are dual cores and FX notebooks with this CPU comming in August, from Clevo (Sager). -
Hmmm is it? Oye then,
Not really a desktop guy, So I was just assuming the p4 -> pm to the a64 -> turion similiarities.
Good to know
