    Will it have HDMI?

EDIT: There will be no HDMI port. IMO that is a big mistake and it's the only reason why I will not be able to get this machine. Too bad :(

Its faster yes, but not amazingly faster. Anyways your question was 'is it good enough for gamers' and not 'is it faster than an atom'.

Ive looked into the HP DV2 which had the same processor and that computer wasnt good enough for semi decent gaming, so IMO this wouldnt be either. The GFX in the ferrari is better than the HP though, however I think the botleneck will most likley be the CPU.

So basically, yes, it is faster than the atom but its still no good for gaming. (though I guess that can depend on what you classify as gaming and it will definatley be better for games than an atom).

    and for 200 bucks more,you could probably get a notebook with a 4670 (ok,slightly slower 4650 probably) :p

Actually this is not a netbook in my opinion. It uses AMD NEO which much stronger than Atom and uses much more power. It's a competitor to Intel CULV.

If you need graphics performance this will be the best 11.6" option. If you need battery life or application performance the 1810TZ with SU4100 will be the better choice.

That looks perfect for me. I want a netbook, it's got a dual-core NEO and it has decent graphics.

Is it going to be fast enough for games? I'd say probably, though naturally you are going to pay in the battery life department, but 4-5 hours is plenty for me to find the trade off worth it.

It's far better than the 4500mhd for gaming - I doubt you will be playing Crysis on it, but not everyone plays high end FPS :). If it can fire up and play say NWN2 and ME at low settings, that's plenty for me. That's more than the current crop of 4500mhd/culv combos can do.

That might make it a bit more tempting, in that case. I wonder if when you connect the box to it with no external monitor if it still uses the external card?

If not, still the external could probably be a nice alternative for those who want to connect up to a TV via HDMI. Still means you have to cart around something else to hook it up to HDMI, though - not necessarily a big deal for me, but might be a show stopper for a lot of other people.

be nice if someone reviews the 4670 box, because I bet that 1.2 ghz dual core is going to be a serious bottleneck for gaming

Nice netbook but not too much interest from the board here ...

I think the 1810T and 1810TZ have killed alot of interest here. While the 4500 isn't a great GPU it works on most older games and the dual core Intel CPU's are more than adaquate for most. The few that need the extra umph provided by a dedicated GPU, especially as an addon, are not going to interested in a netbook for that.

Ths especially in light of a possible UL30-vt coming soon with a dedicated 210m and HDMI along with great battery life etc. For now though an 1810T seems to be the real sweet spot for the higher end of the market, a netbook that acts and feels like a real notebook.........

There are a couple Netbooks out or being released that are running the Nvidia Ion chipset with a dualcore atom 330.
The best comparison i could find between the X2 L310 and the Atom 330 were Passmark cpu score's, according to that the 330 is a bit faster (though i don't trust passmark scores, since there averaged scores) .
Then the graphics, I believe the 9400m is a fair bit faster than the hd 3200.
So the acer isn't the fastest currently.

    @goodoldjam
Are you sure about that? A dual core Neo slower than a dual core Atom?

Thanks for posting the links junesix.
Since there were only 2 samples for the l310, i went and looked what each one scored. The low one scored 439 and the other scored 715 both at stock 1.2Ghz. The top score for the 330 at 1.6 was 716 . Just having 2 samples makes the score that's shown very unreliable.
So im not sure at all after seeing that, i'll have to see some real world testing.
