I'm considering purchasing the Acer 3000. I've noticed that a lot of retailers are lowering their prices on them. Most likely due to the 3200 coming out. Would you purchase one again? I've been looking at the Acer 3000 and the Sony GRT series. The Acer seems to have more bang for the buck. Yet the 16" Sony screen is excellent. Comments welcomed. My goal is to be able to take the laptop on a 2-3 hour trip and watch DVD's and/or play games. Then use the laptop as a replacement desktop-third computer-when not travelling.

I had to purchase 3000 right away since my toshiba broke at the time. And I use laptop daily....

I was actually going to wait for the 3200 to come out. I knew before I bought the 3000. 3200 is a much better set up and for almost the same price as the 3000 (check the spec at other threads in this section).

But, I liked I said, I had to get a laptop and there was no 3200 3 months ago and still not yet availble in USA now.

I would go for the 3200 for sure even though so far I am quite satisfy with the 3000 I have so far except the battery life and fan noise (easy to get warm/hot) when I play games. And I've heard that these shorcomings were well thought off when the new 3200 was made.
