Hi. Ive had the 5920 Gemstone for two months now, really like it. The only thing that really irks me is that there are waaaaaaaay to many LEDs on this thing. Sometimes it feels like a disco or something.
You have the left side LEDs
    (orange wireless led, bluetooth)
You have your right side ones (media buttons)
The leds on the bottom (AC led and battery led)
The leds on top (power button led, and that weird led that leads to the power chord!).
Is there any way of disabling the leds? IF not, is there a way of stopping the orange wireless led from blinking all the time?

    Thanks!

    Marco

But doesn't pushing the WiFi button turn WiFi off? I know it does that on mine...

I think this involves some registry hacking...

    Anyone?

Well, I guess you can cover the LEDs with something if they annoy you that much.

Here´s a tip to disable the orange Wi-Fi led:

Run "regedit" (Start-Run) and then look for "Ledmode" under HKLM\System\Currentcontrolset\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and change the value to 0. Then reboot. If you don´t find it under that specific registry chain, just search for "ledmode" and you´ll surely find it. (Worked great for my intel device).

I tried to disable the "blink" instead of the entire led, but this was the best I could do...

    Regards and hope it helps!!!

P.S: That blinking is reeaaaaally maddening!!!

I came across this post while trying to stop the blinking on my Dell Inspiron with newly installed Intel 4965AGN.

I did essentially what elbubi suggested, except I changed the LedMode to 2. This stops the WiFi light blinking and keeps it on permanently. I also didn't have to reboot (just disable/enable the wireless adaptor).
