Here in Sony forum, people are modding the Insyde bios and enable some hidden menus
http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/473226-insyde-hacking-new-vaio-z-advanced-menu-bios.html
Will the hack also apply to Acer Insyde bios -- and in my particular interest, AS1410/1810. Any ideas?
-
In principle yes. But no sign that any of the BIOS modders have an acer to play with yet :-(
-
EDIT: 9-May.
LOL, no takers, not a single reply.
Well I took these pics to post so may as well post them.
Information, Security and Exit
Just as normal.
Main and Boot
Swapped some things around on the Main and Boot, seemed the boot options would be better on the boot menu
Power Menu
Added the missing Power menu.
Advanced Menu
Expanded Advanced menu to show hidden options.
Had a bit of trouble with the IDE config causing BIOS problems so have removed it for now.
Bottom line. There isn't enough interest in BIOS mods to make it worth while.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
I'm trying to get the VRAM of 4500MHD to 128MB instead of current 64MB. I don't play games but many Adobe software require at least 128MB VRAM for GPU acceleration, which I'd like to use.

On 4500MHD, the VRAM is shared from main memory and it can be changed as seen in the sony page(search "128" in the txt file below)

while there would be no difference in performance, its all about making adobe softwares happy. -
Any chance of this mod being made for the Acer 5315 bios?

i'm also looking for a way to edit the insyde bios on my acer the 5551 anyone know how to because the insyde tool always runs out of memory.
