    Wow, massive destruction there heh.

I'm kinda surprised the keyboard came off so quickly, usually it's latched on pretty sturdily.

I couldn't agree with you more adinu...

Hope you guys realize, at the end of the day you just destroyed something YOU paid hundreds of dollars for not acer   ...

IMHO it would have profited you much better to take it apart and sell it in parts on ebay. Atleast that way you would have got something back money wise for whatever components were still working; but I guess that simple idea slipped your minds  what a waste, oh well your loss...

Wow, incredible, an Acer laptop doesn't resist if you throw it from the 1st floor, what a poor quality... I think that if they can destroy a laptop full of resellable parts, so they just might buy another one. What's funny here ?

Nothing, besides Acer basking in the money that they spent on that machine, only to destroy it.

So I think the one that wins here is Acer afterall, not those lifeless kids. I really hoped they had fun, because they paid $1000 for the ability to destroy that thing. Man, you could have destroyed something that was free, not something you paid 1000 dollars for.

Oh well, go try that and see how it feels when you actually pay for the laptop urself, not ur parents. See how it feels to throw away 1000 dollars of ur actual hard earned money.

A laptop cost you $1000, but actually it cost more then what you pay.

Think about the country who made computer, how much they need to suffer form polution?

    Don't waste resources anymore.......

There are no slow computer, there are only people who can not use them well.
If you can not fix it, give it to someone elase who need it and will feel happy about it.

Morons like these are a good example of the lowest common denominator that i speak about so often, and to which the culture panders.

As long as there are kids this dumb that are out there (that grow up to become dumb adults), and they continue to be hapless and unknowing victims of advertising, we'll keep finding more and more ways for them to keep mindlessly handing over their money to us. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Uh...this wasnt a case of "give it away cause it's slow" It didnt work. At all. It wouldnt even turn on. It was sent to Acer multiple times and each time they said "yep, we fixed it" then sent it back after they just re-installed the OS (which wasnt the problem...anyone can re-install the OS)

Either way, we took out the RAM, HDD, CD drive, etc to sell. If the laptop itself was still working at all, it would have been sold, but it was essentially a hunk of plastic and metal that did NOTHING. And he did pay for the laptop, just like he paid for his new one.

I have one thing to say, GOT IQ?

WE live in a country where rights of the consumer are held very high. If this ACER was under warranty and not being fixed, I'd personally take it to their office and raise hell.

After the 3rd or 4th time being sent in, they said it wasnt under warranty anymore. This may have been the case, but it "fell out" of warranty while they were trying to fix it. Wasnt mine, I didnt deal with acer, but thats as far as I know

This was before it completly bricked itself. It was having problems where the keyboard would suddenly not be recognized, or the trackpad wouldnt work. Then his left click stopped working on it (had to use a mouse), then the screen started doing the line things in the original post. It continued to deteriorate until he bought a new lappy and stripped that one apart, and we broke it.

he was too determined to break it. anything you say he can rationalize in his own head. Whether or not i think it was a good idea is not going to change the fact that he wasted some money on destroying the chassis.
