    Simple way to enable VT
Before you think this is a one size fit all solution please be sure to check Intel Website if your Processor is VT Capable in the first place.

Update: BIOS 1.10 was just released and appears to disable EFI boot and therefore blocks use of this approach.

STAY AT 1.08 IF YOU NEED VT-x until someone else finds a way to make this work.

    ----------------

    Wow, that was easy.

    I can confirm it works on my 3810T-6415 (SU9400) w/BIOS 1.08.

I'm running Win7 64-bit + VirtualBox 3.0.2 with OpenSolaris 2009.06 running as a guest (installing right now). I've allocated two virtual CPUs to the guest and am running it in 64-bit.

So far this looks good... hopefully other people see this guy's work. I was about to go down the road of duplicating Marcan's stuff -- what a time saver.

BIOS 1.10 appears to disable this route. I can no longer EFI boot using this method.

Don't update to 1.10 if you depend on VT-X support right now.

Update: Yes, I have Insyde BIOS.

Only works for Insyde BIOSes - those of us with Phoenix BIOSes are SOL/JWF.

Yep it is Insyde only :)
Just to be sure is the thumbdrive correctly formated?
    FAT32 bootable works
Boots to EFI for Aspire Timeline 3810TZ correctly although VT doesn't work as SU2700 doesn't support VT.

Weinter, you were able to get EFI boot to work on 1.10?

The same USB dongle that worked on 1.08 would not work for me on 1.10.

I tried multiple dongles (3 different configurations of FAT32) with no luck. I read that people had mixed results with different USB drive/dongle manufacturers but I had a dongle that worked fine with 1.08.

I ended up using the Windows version of the 1.08 flash tools to flash back to 1.08 and then reapply the VT-x fix.

So can you confirm that you were on 1.10 *and* you have a 3810T-6415 (SU9400) and were able to boot?

You are right it no longer works
So guys stick to 1.08 if you need VT for those with SU 2700 you can't enable VT anyway so must as well stick to 1.10

Anyway just curious why is there is click for more on a "YES" in securable what does it say?

Darn, I was hoping you found a way to make it work. It's really annoying Acer has "locked down" the BIOS.
