I found this post, and then used the BIOS image from Acer Aspire 3680 v3508 Unlocked Advanced Options (download link Acer Aspire 3680 v3508 Unlocked By 1234s282 FIXED.rar)

It flashed and works great on Acer Aspire 5570. Thank you so much kizwan! A real wizard you are :D

What you need to know are:-
    1) Create a bootable DOS drive using USB flash drive.
    2) How to flash BIOS in DOS mode.

In case you don't know how to do both, please go to first post.

hello all name is neil. i own a dell studio 1535 i have applied the pll pin mod at it was a success. now im looking into the modded bios's for the board and video card. i have found many many links to different modded bios's but all are dead. i dont care about the slic mod as i have found a version of ultimate for hp and compaq that is activated and works just fine. im mainly looking to be able to overclock past the 800fsb but my bios is locked. i have disabled the tme on my pll but my bios wont even let setfsb read my pll even though i have mine selected from the drop down list( how i know it is locked) if any one can help point me in the right direction or even has the file needed for me it would be greatly appreciated. ps i do know how to use the bios recovery as i had to perform it when i got this computer. only paid 20 bucks had to replace a screen and restore the bios. :)

Dell Studio 1535 use Dell BIOS which basically different than Phoenix BIOS. Even if Dell Studio 1535 use Phoenix BIOS, I won't be able to mod the BIOS for FSB overclocking. I don't have that skill & knowledge.

If you have access to your notebook schematic, you can try this solution:-
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...90696-bsel-mod-socket-p-explained-photos.html

I find post #4 is very interesting:-

yes i am very familiar with the bsel mod. i have used it many times on all my laptops and my friends. and yes it does lock the multi. i have done the pll mod to this computer and it worked great. even overclocked my ram to 400mhz. but i cant seem to do any of the overclocking to the video card people talk about modding the bios for it but i have yet to be able to even gain access the that bios file let alone change anything

Yes, it worked out. Xiphias request for BIOS with modified VBIOS. It's for overclocking the graphic card to 620 Mhz for the GPU clock and 540Mhz for the memory clock. The conversation between me & Xiphias are via PM. This is the modified BIOS I build for Xiphias: Dell Studio 1535 BIOS A06 MOD.rar ( MD5: 28A25ED989388A015D88C2AC708FEAB8). Use at your own risk!

FYI, I'm no longer provide VBIOS mod, sorry.

<strike>BTW, did you look at post #4 at BSEL pin mod thread? Probably the solution to why you can't overclock even after pll pin mod.</strike>

If both use identical BIOS then yes, you can use the modified BIOS. Use at your own risk!. CRISIS package is available at first post. The recovery procedure is different on different model/brand. You'll need to test/find the correct procedure for your notebook.

I already modified Packard Bell Ipower GX-M003GE BIOS. If you look at post #1134, the original download link is the same with your Packard Bell iPower GX-M-011GE BIOS at post #2325.

I won't be able to modify FSB by modifying the BIOS. If you want to overclock, please use third party tools, for example SetFSB.

VBIOS in Aspire 5580 notebook is built/integrated in the system BIOS. So, you won't be able to update them.

Omg, Kizwan.... I finally had some success with that QX9100 ES i bought!

Fiddling around with the settings, you unlocked in the Extensa 5630G bios, I deactivated speedstep with the T7250 inserted and thought I would give it a last go, before giving up. And lo and behold, the QX9100 booted! I just reinstalled windows.

Now the bad news is that its only detecting half of the cores, and using RMClock I cannot set any other multiplier than 8x (maximum) or the system freezes. I was wondering if this is bios related or simply a bad sample of the QX9100 ES. Here is a screenshot with various info. Can you please help me? Is it possible to unlock the remaining two cores?

Look like your notebook/power brick unable to provide enough power to run QX9100 ES CPU. This is the best explanation I can think of. Higher multi, require higher voltage. I have no idea why only 2 cores detected though.

    @ MZWiZard,

Does SpeedStep is disabled or enabled by default (BIOS: Load Setup Defaults)? Core Multi-Processing already enabled by default.

    Hi,
I tried to switch the optical drive in my Notebook with one of these hard drive bays, but i seem to have a bios related problem. Whenever I have a hard drive in this bay the the notebook freezes at the end of the bios with a blank black screen. It doesn't seem to expect anything other than a optical drive in this place but it does detect the drive.

Sounds like what Shantzu experienced with another Acer notebook but even with the newest bios it doesn't work for me and I can't activate it when I push it in after the bios.

    Acer Travelmate 8472TG
    Core i3-350M
    4GB DDR3 RAM
    Nvidia GT330M
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

So my question is, if this is in fact a bios related issue and would one of you be able to bring it to work or could the hard drive bay just be damaged?

    Bios 1.27

here are some pics of the bios when there's a ssd in the bay:
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/846/imag1021.jpg/
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/6/imag1022p.jpg/
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/692/imag1023t.jpg/

If this is too much to make by ourselves, does Acer normally answer questions to bios compatibilities like this and would tell you if they are working on it?

Just tried. When I load setup defaults, it locks at the acer silent post picture. Nothing can get into it. I had to change back to the T7250 to get into bios and then deactivate speedstep and silent post screen, then it boots again with the QX9100ES.

The attached screenshot is how it looks like when setup defaults are loaded and then booted with the T7250.

EDIT: I just tried different options and it seems no matter what I do, system locks up when changing multiplier from default 8x. I tried 6-7-8-9x(IDA). Also when enabling C1E in throttlestop the system locks up. C2E, C3E works, however. In Throttlestop v3.00.1 i can unlock it, it says - but still freezes. I can use clock modulation to bring internal frequency down to around 600MHz.

I have unlocked Core Multi-Processing & Processor Power Management options in R3. Both already by default are enabled. I unlocked them anyway for you to test. Set Processor Power Management to Disabled. Test it if it fixed the QX9100 & SpeedStep issue. You can find R3 BIOS at post #87. Use at your own risk!

Your notebook doesn't support VT-x & also doesn't support IDA.

Thank you very much. :) I flashed the bios and got stuck at bootscreen again. Back with the 7250 and disable speedstep, and i was back up with the qx9100. Theres no change it seems, other than throttlestop now reports 8.5x multiplier instead of 8x. After wiping out rmclock it still shows 8x, hmm. I enabled speedstep, but then disabled power management in bios. This also makes it boot fine. However I'm still stuck at 2 cores and not able to change multiplier.

In the attachements you'll find intel menu running. The core multiprocessing is available here, but its grayed down. The other screenshot (VTD Feature) is what the "Penryn cpu subcontrol" contains. The last is what throttlestop and rmclock reports after flashing. Btw, cpu-z now also reports 8.5x multiplier.

    Please advice.

EDIT: There is a slight difference in clockspeed. It seems when i enable speedstep, the cpu runs at 8.5x (2266MHz). When i disable, it runs at 8x (2133MHz).

EDIT2: Signature is 1067A, which is the same as QX9300, if thats of any relevance.

You'll need to find it yourself. You can use the information available at first post as a reference/guide.
