"There are actually two versions of the Acer Nitro 5 to choose from depending on your favored pairing of CPU and GPU. The first has an NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti GPU and seventh-generation Intel Core processors, and there's another with seventh-gen AMD A-series CPUs and RX550 GPUs. For what it's worth, we're looking at the Intel/NVIDIA version here, which was the only one on show at the Acer booth at Computex. On the outside at least, both models should be identical."

Unless the RX 550 model is like 600-650$ or less, it would be dumb to even consider it. The 1050 laptops at 800$ offer significantly better performance. Not to mention that the Bristol Ridge CPU they're talking about is still only about 10% better than the i7 7500U. So yeah, if it costs 650$ for the AMD edition, it might be worth a look. Anything more and it's just not good value

The back of the nitro 5 have a similar heat system layout as the Helios 300 but Helios don't have the heat problem . Is nitro 5 heat problem that bad ?

Helios 300 also runs hot. Nitro 5 is simply worse.

What a letdown from Acer. Hope Nitro 5 Spin has same cooling design as VX15

To be honest, this is what I expected given their history of poor cooling design with the Nitro series starting from the first one - VN7-591G all the way through to the current VN7-593G. The VX15 was probably the first Acer laptop under 1000$ without cooling problems that I've seen in the past 3 years.

I wish they'd separate the CPU and GPU and give then their own heatsink/fan setup. Especially on anything with a 1050 or better.
