    Greetings,

I have a TM800LCi. Love it. 0 problems in 2.5 years, one awesome machine.

I just bought a Dell 2005FPW. What a beauty. I knew going in that connecting to an LCD through VGA would be kinda crappy. My lab has a new Dell GX280 with a 1703FPt connecting via VGA and it looks very good actually, so I thought my Acer would look good on the 2005FPW. It's ok but not as sharp as I'd like, nor as comparitavely good as the Dell desktop. I compared a text doc and a photo on the Acer to a Powerbook, which has DVI. The sharpness is very evident via the DVI (duh).

My question is, does anyone know of a port replicator that has a DVI connector that I can buy? My current dock (III?) only has VGA.

Also, I have no problem modding my Acer so if anyone knows of whether I can replace my VGA connector with a DVI, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks!

Well, I don't think there's any way if you can mod the Acer to have a DVI.

I know you can get a VGA to DVI converter adapter, but that wouldn't increase the quality....

The new Acer's have the docking port for the Acer ezDock - that has a DVI port on it. For yours, I think only the old replicatior is avaliable....
