    Hello everyone!

    I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum. Please let me know if it is and I'll try and move it. I'm a newbie to these forums as well as PC hardware.

    I just purchased this 17 Inch Acer Predator to replace my Clevo P150em which has served me faithfully for the past 5 years. Now I find it lacking in performance both in gaming and video editing.


    So here come my Questions. I know this laptop can be upgraded easily, but since I don't know what I'm doing I figure I can run things by you first.

    Ram
    The computer comes with 32GB Ram but I would like to upgrade it to 64. I know there are 2 easily accessible empty slots available. My question is does the type of Ram have to be the same manufacturer as the original 32GB (2x16)? Or if I were to buy a new type would it simply plug and play? Would this Ram work?

    M.2 SSD
    This laptop comes with 512GB SSD in Raid 0 config. First question would be is it worth it to leave it in Raid 0? Or should I separate them into 2 individual drives? The laptop actually has a place for a third M.2 SSD. If I leave the previous 2 SSDs in Raid 0, would the third one have to join them or can it be an independent drive by itself? I know the third drive slot is a type B 2280 so the following should be plug and play correct?

    HDD
    The laptop comes with a 1tb 7200rpm HDD. I'm thinking of swapping it out for a 1 or 2TB SSD. Any 2.5inch drive should be fine to swap out correct?

    I used the following website to make my assumptions. It's dated 2016 so this leads me to believe this is the old 980m graphics card 17x laptop, but the structure and build seem to be exact to the new 17x.
