There was a thread about Acer machines randomly restarting. When I found out what caused my TM 8210 to restart, I'm thinking that other Acer models might have the same problem.

The cause of my machine to restart randomly is a conflicting driver. "OSaFsLoc.sys" is made from Acer. Google that file up and you will find more details about it. It's also associated with trojans and viruses but I'm assuming that you machine is clean and that the file is from Acer.

A quick fix to the problem is to do a clean install (not from the Acer recovery discs). The launch manager seems fine to use. Don't install any of the Acer software (ie: Acer Empower blah blah blah).

-To check if you have the conflicting driver problem, run verifier from windows.

-If you can't boot back to windows, boot into recovery console to reset verifier.

-If your admin password doesn't work in recovery console, change registry so that it doesn't ask for a password before running verifier.
