I can't understand Acer S7 naming of the models, when I look at both of these models:
    - NX.MG4EK.012
    - NX.MBKEK.004

The first one seems to have an i5 process but costs £1415 after VAT. The second one seems to be the one advertised on their website but seems to be on sale on many websites.

Is there a way to know which one is the 2014 refresh and why one is so much more expensive ?

My advice; Read the specs carefully. Don't assume anything, if it is not mentioned then don't think that model has it. Google anything that you don't understand.

Here is the first one, and here is the second. First has 128Gb SSD and DDR3 _ RAM, second has 256Gb SSD and DDR3 L RAM. That`s the only difference that I can see, but I`ve not compared them on 100%.

What do you mean saying "refresh" ?
