Hi all!
Recently noted a not so nice thing about my recently bought Acer S7-392.
If you close the lid the screen sits almost seamlessly on the keyboard casing. While this sounds like a good thing in the first place it really is not:
If you have a only a small particle between the screen and the keyboard casing it immediately will damage you screen. In my case I had a little sandcorn between the screen and the casing and that left litte imprints on the screen.
I sorted out this isssue by putting little plastic cushions on the frame around the screen so that they introduce some distance.
But that leaves me with the question:
How can this be (apart from poor engineering). Is the screen (and not just the top of the lid) really Gorilla glas?
Answers heavily appreciated ... obviously this is a huge disappointment given the quite high price of this notebook...

As far as I can tell, it's Gorilla Glass 2 which has a terrible reputation. My experience indicates that it deserves that reputation; I've had it fail on three devices.
The keys on my S7 are scuffing up the screen and I've taken to always inserting the protective sheet that the laptop shipped with when closing the lid on to the keyboard. Pain in the ... for a $1500 laptop.
