Hi, I have an Acer 3023WLMi notebook which has built in Wifi. Since I bought it it has never detected my home wireless network, even though it detects 4 of my neighbours' networks. I have a Netgear DG834G wireless router which is pretty standard and 4 different netgear and one linksys adapters can pick it up. At first I thought it was the Broadcom wifi chip that didn't detect the router so i bought a new intel one today and that dosn't see my network either, so i've come to the conclusion it must be the built in SignalUP antenna. Does anyone else have a similar problem or know how i can make the antenna detect my router?
    Cheers
    Alex

This to me sounds like an issue with the router/configuration, not your card/antenna. Is the router set to only handle g or b, maybe? Did you configure the router yourself? Do you know if the SSID is broadcasted or hidden?

    Hi,
Yeah I did configure the router myself. I'm pretty sure the SSID is being broadcast and I know its broadcasting in both B and G because I have both a B adapter and a G adapter connected to it. The network is automatically detected by all the other computers in my house but the laptop won't. I thought it might be the antenna because I was under the impression that it uses radio and maybe my router dosn't work with radio, although that is probably complete rubbish, I don't really know that much about wireless networking apart from successfully setting a few up.
I think I can rule out the problem being the actual wireless card in the laptop now as I've tried 2 with no success...
