Dear all,
in my Acer Spin 5 SP513-52N-53Y6 I need to upgrade the storage from 256 GB to 1 TB. Does anyone know if the M.2 slot is compatible with PCIe NVMe? Are there any restrictions in terms of SSD capacity? I would be most interested in a Samsung 960 or 960 EVO.
Note: The speed of the SSD in my current laptop is of minor concern (as long as it's at least comparable to SATA 3), as I intend to buy a more powerful machine later this year and then transfer the SSD into that laptop.
Thanks!

Samsung 960 NVMe SSD will work up to 512GB safely as these models come with NVMe M.2 SSDs but it may work at half the speed advertised by the manufacturers due to only 2 lanes being enabled.

Thanks for your repsonse! I went ahead and tried, Samsung EVO 960 1 TB (MZ-V6E1T0BW), which is M.2 PCIe NVMe, works. For some details see: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/570332/#Comment_570332
