Welcome and please understand your Acer before you fiddle...

Search, Read, Learn. In that order.

Lots of old information to help on this Forum....

    Cheers,
    Theo

you rejoice... all that crap is just that CRAP

the only GOOD FEATURE of the EMPOWERING TECHNOLOGY is the ability for the below average user to easily create backups of the hard disk in it's current state...

the E-LOCK is an OK feature, but not needed,, (but always remove the password ((and all BIOS PASSOWRDS)) before flashing the BIOS),
and everything else the Empowering Tech does can be done thru windows control pannel

but if you wanna put that crap back good luck

if you really want everything back like from the factory

REBOOT... HOLD ALT & press F10 when the ACER SCREEN first comes up..
    follow the onscreen instructions..

or did you manage to delete the hidden recovery partition too??

    You can find them here:
    ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/

Look for your model. Acer software should be listed under Applications. Or if you are using Filezilla, you can force it to show hidden files. Latest Acer software for Vista SP1 are listed under the folder ".sp1et"
