I am about to get an Acer Travelmate 4400.
I plan to put Windows XP X64 Professional Edition on it, since it is supported.
I went to the Acer site, and downloaded all the 64-bit drivers (it was a slow site, only 30k/sec!). However, next to the drivers it said "BIOS V1.08 Required"

I do not know if the Acer comes with the BIOS 1.08, so I wanted to download it before the computer arrived so I could be ready.
I went on the US Support site to download the Bios, but I can't even find the regular drivers for Windows XP on there! That site is so hard to navigate, I have never seen a worse support site. I have also been on the UK site, but the TravelMate 4400 wasnt listed there, I assume it is not sold in the UK.
Can anyone show me where to get the Bios V1.08 for the Acer TravelMate 4400 (or even the Windows XP Drivers (32bit))?
Thanks for your help.

Is there anyone out there who could help me navigate the site? Thanks. Yea, I gave it another shot today and I haven't had any luck

Well, I give up!! I think that BIOS update either has not been released yet or has not been uploaded on to their website. You could try calling them...(although I suspect they would not have any idea about the BIOS

Yea, I surrender. Their search engine is so....non user friendly. I had trouble finding a search result for ANYthing! #@$#%$%%!!!
If anyone else knows where to find the 1.08 BIOS update for the Acer TravelMate 4400, let me know! This is one tough nut to crack, lol!
BTW, thanks for looking miner. I appreciate it. -
In the UK the 4400 can be had with WinXP 64 pre-installed, so the BIOS obviously exist. Maybe the UK site has it or if you can find someone with the right BIOS and they could extract it for you?

If it is Phoenix bios you can try http://www.esupport.com/biosagent/index.cfm?refererid=40 for a bios upgrade although i'm not sure if it charges a fee for that. You download a bios checker program that will check your bios and produce a string which you then email to the site and wait for their reply for suitable upgrades. I tried downloading the utility but couldn't run the file as it says error excuting the program when it starts up.
