I've bought the Acer Travelmate 3222 WXMI. It has the following specs:

    14.1" WXGA
    PM 740,
    ATI MR x700 64MB,
    512MB RAM (2 dimms)
    80 GB 5400 rpm HDD
    DVD+/-/RAM RW double layer
    WLAN b/g
    bluetooth
    WinXP Pro
    Weight 2.4 kgs

So far I'm pretty happy with my new lappie, BUT I have the following concern regarding fan/heat issues:
I'm really sensitive to fan noise and simply can't stand a constant running fan on my lappie. The fan runs ALL the time , even during simple office tasks or in idle windows mode. Should it be like that?
    :-/
Please please, if anyone out there has an Acer TM 3222 with similar specs, or another Acer w/ ATI GPU, please please please share your experiences with me. How is the fan behaving during normal office-type tasks? Heavy gameplay?

    Thanks

    Carl
