    Acer TM 8100: I need FRU for the touchpad cable!

    The touchpad on my Travelmate 8104WLMi doesn't work and I found out that the cable from the touchpad which is connected to the mainboard is defect (broken). I need to replace it but haven't found any service manual for this series (8100) online. I need the FRU for that spesific cable so I can order it from the distributor here in Norway. Can anyone help me, please?

    Also the USB-ports doesn't work either, but I cannot figure out why... I've dissassembled the machine and there is no loose cables. Strange...

    check for the drivers on windows device manager? see if there is a USB host hub installed (sometimes intel chipset install uninstalls these..)

    I ordered the manual at eBay. I was happy to see that it contained all the FRUs :)

    anchemis: I've checked that all the drivers is installed in device manager. I've also tried to unistall and reinstall. It's a WinXP Pro clean install on the hard drive. It doesn't help if I install with the original recovery cds either :(
