We'll be visiting with Acer on 1/4/06 and should be able to update you on their new systems then.

What are you interested in? Most of their current Intel line will be replace by newer models. Most current Sonoma platform will get Yonah and those with dedicated ATI graphics will be moving to the ATI X1000 (X300 to X1300 and X700 to X1400 with the exception of the TM8200 which gets the X1600)series of GPUs while those with nVidia Go 6600 will be getting Go7200. Wifi will go from Intel 2200 B/G to 3945 A/B/G, and in some cases a small increase in battery capacity.

For which model? Give me the current model and I'll see what I have on the replacement.

The TM4600 replacement will get a X1400 w/128MB or Intel 950 depending on which version. Wireless will go 3945 a/b/g and there will be a expresscardd slot. DVI-D and S/PDIF output.

Not much info for the TM3300 replacement other than that it will get Yonah and 945GM but I think this one won't be out for a bit.

The package I saw do not have any info on their Tablet lineup.

The benchmarks from the PC Magazine review are pretty impressive! The 3DMark05 score of 4393:rolleyes: is respectable and almost double of dv4000's X700! Other scores show that the Core Duo and the 2GB of fast RAM will make any application fly on this baby.

Also, notice that the x1600 performed better than the 7800 GTX in the Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory test with HDR enabled!!! Hope this isn't a typo..

This shouls run HL2 flawlessly on most settings, and I'll be able to play it with native resolution with everything maxed out on DX 8.1 settings!

I usually play games in a window mode whenever possible to keep an eye out for other things running on my system, so I am really looking forward to owning this beast with the dual cores!

...For all the specs and Acer excellent build quality, I'd pay $2800 for this baby!

(made this post sound like I am advertising the notebook :D , but I am just really excited about getting one in early Feb)

It does look like a VERY nice machine. 4 hours of battery on mobilemark, 4400 3dmark05. I just hope theres an option for wxga instead of wsxga!
