So the computer beeps everytime the adapter gets taken out and plugged in. I tried lowering the volume, turning the sound scheme to no sound. But the beeping still happens. Whats going on?

This is normal for the laptop but a possible solution would be to go Control Panel > Sound > Playback devices > pick the one you are using (speakers) > right click > Properties > Tab Levels > then lower the PC Beep slider or mute it. I cannot test it because my PC doesn't beep for that reason. Another way would be to look in the BIOS settings. Let me know if it worked

I tried the above fix in my recently purchased timeline 4810tz-4120 and it does not work. The laptop continues to beep every time it's plugged or unplugged. The problem with the above fix is that under Control Panel > Sound > Playback devices > pick the one you are using (speakers) > right click > Properties > Tab Levels > there is no slider (or anything else) related to "PC Beep". Yes you can slide your speaker levels all the way down and that eliminates the problem, but it also means you have no sound on your computer, or you have to turn the sound down all the way before plugging or unplugging.

Does anyone have any idea how to eliminate this annoying and loud plug/unplug beep without eliminating all the sounds you want to hear? I looked in the bios and didn't see anything related to sound or beep.

hi, this might be a little delayed but after trying to figure the same problem out on my 4810 (windows 7) tonight

anyway, I just disabled the 'beep' device (non plug and play drivers) from device manager (show hidden on view panel) - seemed to work fine and the damn thing doesn't beep when I disconnect my AC

neither of the suggested solutions work for me. as with timelineG, I saw no slider in the properties, and in the device manager it still beeps even when I disable the "beep". Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
