I got a new Acer Timeline 4810TZ-4011...It's great!!! BUT I can not see my usb flash drive, where I have some files to transfer to the Acer, when I connect it to the usb ports. Usually I can open My Computer Icon on my desktop old computer and I can see the pen drive...But how I do it now???
Same experience with all three usb ports!!! Do I need to activate them or what??? Thank you...

    Welcome to NBR,

Usually this may happen if you don't have the chipset drivers installed. Which would be odd assuiming your system came with OS preinstalled right? Do you see any "unknown devices" or devices with an exclamation mark in the Device Manager? Are you sure your pendrive is working correctly? You can easily check that by plugging it in another computer..

    HI,

No "unknown devices" or devices with an exclamation mark in the Device Manager when I plug it in...only the Universal Serial Bus controllers, the pendrive is working good, I tested it with the old computer...

    SOLUTION:

    1. Unplug the pendrive from the usb port(s) (all devices).

    2. Unistall usb drivers. From the Divice Manager (Control Panel - Device Manager - Universal Serial Bus).

    3. At the + Universal Serial Bus Controllers, click the + sign and uninstall all under Universal Serial Bus Controllers...right click at each item and in the menu click uninstall.

    4. Reboot the computer. The system will reinstall all drivers.

    5. Plug in your usb pendrive, it will work!!!

    6. Check your pendrive is good, I plug in a printer too and is working fine!!!
