Sorry, i told you the wrong side for the sim slot....I thought you didn't have aswell the PCI-E slot.

Isn't the sim slot hidden near the battery contacts, behind a glossy looks glued tape?..

I checked on mine and there's a small piece of glossy black tape hidding the sim slot....

There is a slot behind the tape just to the left of the battery connector (behind some tape - but not in the same position as the 3810T which is to the right of the battery connector). Unfortunately it's just a void, there's no mechanism behind it so not a proper sim slot. :(

    You're right, "It's just a void"...!

I have remove the keyboard today, having a look about the spare 3G Mini PCI-E Slot.

Acer did not include the mini pci-e adapter (the dark grey color plastic made with wires) to connect the card...They forgot to plumb it onto the card on purpose... :(

I can't even use it as a Intel Turbo Memory or a mini pSSD card!!

Lucky, the bluetooth 4pins jumper is there, at least i can use that BCM92046NMD card!

If you want to mod this:

I've tried to contact Acer on this matter, but no luck so far.

It'd help if more people tried, maybe someone gets lucky and finds a decent technician.

I've also asked acer about this but they only said that I should not hope for a new bios because the 4820 is already in support...

what is with the bios mod from the 3810 ? is it not the same hardware ?
most of the people with the 3810 have sata2 funktion I think

But... is the BIOS really the culprit for this? Did Acer tell you that?

no they didn't but they also didn't say why its only sata1....
the best answer was: "Yes the 4810T has got SATA!"

the bios is the new insyde h2o bios which was hard to change, i've read that in some boards, only the 3810 was cracked by a user ....
so I hope there is a way for the 4810

    Hello folks,

Yep, first time poster, but bit experienced with notebooks.
I have few mysteries about my ACER 4810TZ... could you help?

First, I bought it brand new 3 weeks ago. On outer box was a sticker saying IMEI number. Also I found one inside the box.
I hoped I have 3G modem, but no luck... no drivers no hardware in device mamager. No sim card slot.
Then, I noticed when I turn it on, WiFi LED is green for some time then later it gets orange.
Also, there is no Acer 3G launcher software installed.

Second... I did erased completely my HDD, so partition recovery is deleted. Any solution to take it back, via DVD or something. I cannot now fid all those ACER softwares that was on it, for download.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Hello Subaru Swift,

    Thank you for reply.

I bought it brand new, in Germany. Windows 7 legal, but in German lang... totally not for me. So I decided to re-install in English, everything went ok, but missing nti backup and other acer gadgets, like screen saver, background...

So, anyone that might help me sharing recovery partition in English ?
(I did ghosted mine, but it still in German...)

    Thank you

whatsup all, just jumped on the su4100 4810t bandwagon for about 380eur almost new aftermarket.

so far so good, this is definitely a good replacement to the aspire one atom cpu which just couldn't hack higher load web pages. while we're giving up a little in weight, we're definitely not giving much at all up in the battery life dept.

my question: is there a way to hack the display brightness even lower than the default minimum? i find that the minimum brightness is almost the same as midway brightness was in the aspire one which means i hardly ever need to turn it up. rather i'd take it down a few more notches below minimum to save on battery!

Another 4810T owner here. I am 100 percent happy with the performance of this notebook. I also have a aspire 7720. I am going to upgrade to windows 7 on my mac and 2 other computers as well. but this 4810T is an amazing notebook, light, small, powerful. good looking and all the features to boot.

I see user advan20092 modded an 3810tg bios with intel-only graphic option. Is possible to get modded bios for 4810tg?
