I've been researching the Acer Aspire Timeline series recently...and I think I've found what I want....

My only problem, and question, is where can I buy acer laptops....

I went to there site and didn't really see anywhere to order. Does acer allow you to customize/order through their site...or do they only offer pre-packaged options through 3rd party vendors?

I'm looking for a Timeline with:

    Core 2 Duo Processor
the ATI Graphics Card (not integrated intel)
    and a DVD Writer/Player

As to screen size I don't really care which it is, 13-14-15...I suppose I'd prefer 15, but any will do as long as the above specs are met.

I've read reviews that state the timeline series offers these specs but I can't find anywhere that sells a Timeline with them in it.

    Help please.

yikes...what's the shipping like from there?

Any chance of it coming state-side?

Also what if I forgot about the ATI graphics....could I still get an optical drive and the Core 2 Duo stateside?

it will be a lot more expensive if you buy it overseas... usually tech is cheaper in usa.

the only core 2 duo i've seen so far in america (and own) is a 3810t-6xxx but has no optical drive... you may want to hold until october/win7 launch, there will be a lot more options
