They are parts of the chipset. Try downloading GS45 drivers from Intel site.

Those are the 2 you are looking for.

So when doing a google search hit up the following

    VEN_8086&DEV_2930&SUBSYS_02291025&REV_03
    VEN_8086&DEV_2932&SUBSYS_02291025&REV_03

you'll notice the hardware id's are almost identical, this tells you that a single driver should knock both out.

    Best of luck

you might have just hit the end of the internet ;)

If nothing is turning up it means 2 things.

    1. Google / M$ / etc. has not cached that yet for there search engine
    2. It's being stupid.... check out http://www.pcidatabase.com/ to see if it turns anything up.

I know you said you tried a set of chipset drivers, but we might need to locate a different set. Start by looking at the motherboard chipset (north bridge) and go from there.

If anyone can help you it's the guys over at www.driverpacks.net

Solved... it was chipset driver.... lol
when i was about to give up, i decided to try a driver from acer.com
and when i restart the computer.. it is all taken care of..
interesting.. all the drivers from Intel.com did not solve the problem but the one from acer.com did... very interesting..

Thanks for your help ssx4life..and der mali +1 Rep

Inquiring minds (myself included) would love to know the exact link off acer's site that you used for the chipset you mentioned. I knew it was a chipset, just didn't know which.

That way Google will cache this post and all others will be able to see exactly what needs to be fixed in the future. ;)

    Thanks!

i like to add my experience with XP with TL. (comparing to Win 7 RC).
System runs much faster, i should say much smoother.
In Win 7 there was brief(very brief but noticeable) slow down of cursor while i brows on web pages. In XP, that is *gone*. Fan runs bit less.
Overall system responses much better in XP than Win 7 (of course than Vista).
Though i lost Aero and other beauties, i will stick to XP for now
(I think SU 2700 might be underpowered for Vista/Win 7).

Also no more CPU choking up (100%). With Vista/Win 7, i had this briefly (1-2 sec) even with Bios and Driver updated.

    @danieljdsn

Good to know that it works so good, as I'm planning to use XP on my (to be ordered) 1810t. How is the battery life compared to Vista/Win7 ?

I am also eager to hear about how you find the performance of this laptop (processor).

I dont plan on doing any state of the art gaming but playing some older games that I used to run on my 233/450mhz desktops would be nice....like say civilization 1-3...? I saw a report somewhere online while googling for performance reviews of this processor that indicated it couldnt handle diablo II....which has pathetic system requirments....any truth to this do you think?

    Diablo II Sys Reqs:
    Windows® 2000*, 95, 98, or NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 Pentium® 233 or equivalent 32 MB RAM 650 MB available hard drive space 4X CD-ROM drive DirectX™ compatible video card

Maybe I will start my own thread for this but I figured I would post here also....somewhat related as you may have seen performance improvements with XP vs Vista.

    LOL!
It could handle several instances of Diablo2 at once ;)
Maybe they were talking about Diablo3, which nobody knows yet anyway.

So this should be able to handle anything my old 450 did?

This will depend on the hardware... on some systems(mainly low powered ones) XP will be the better performer compared to Win7. Win7 excels on the fact that we DO NOT need to upgrade any hardware running XP or Vista to run Win7. Something that was not true when Vista was introduced. A vast majority needed to upgrade hardware.

guess i will try win7 rc and see how that goes...if its not peppy enough ill have to switch.

getting even further off-topic here but related to performance. I thought i saw somewhere that someone said if you were using the su2700 to browse through pictures you took off your digital camera and stuff it would be fine, but if you planned on editing them with a program like photoshop it would not be able to handle it. Is this accurate?

Again like the diablo 2 situation....I used to use photoshop all day long on my old 450mhz desktop and while the software may have changed since then, my use of it hasn't and I would be surprised if doing the same thing now in a newer version of the same app required 3x the CPU.

I am planning to install XP on my 3810T. For those of you who have done it, which version have you used? 64 bit XP, or Windows Professional 32 bit?

    Thanks,

Why do you want to put xp on your 3810T xp is a battery killer and xp x64 is really buggy and only dx 9.0 in xp, what did you get pre installed ?

Vista, and I was out of the country during the entire free upgrade to Windows 7 period.
