Hey all, I have been having an issue with my 1830 that has been driving me nuts. The Launch Manager often turns wifi off after waking the laptop from sleep. Additionally, after returning from sleep, sometimes the launch manager and the blue wifi LED indicate that the wifi is on, but no wifi networks are found unless I disable and enable the wifi card again.
I have wifi power saver set to Max Performance and wifi drivers updated to latest version. I also tried uninstalling the Launch Manager, and the problem still happens. Any ideas for a possible fix? Thanks!

Anyone? Acer won't even hear me on their customer service line since I bought this laptop refurbished and I'm really desperate to fix this problem.

I had a problem with power saver turning off my 3820tg's wifi card on batteries. I got rid of power saver ... end of problem.

I have power saver on Max Performance (ie NEVER sleep wifi) and I reinstalled and uninstalled launch manager, cannot get any further with this issue. It is literally almost a dealbreaker at this point and I cannot understand what could be causing this.

I tried updating the broadcom driver. Made no difference. I changed the adapter settings to wake for all events (rather than magic & the other selection by default).
The most interesting thing about this is that the wifi works from sleep. However when waking from hibernate it is switched off. Of course invoking the Launch Manager (Fn+F3) allows it to be enabled again, but this laptop is for my 7 year old daughter and I don't think she should have to do that every time,
Like you I've searched the web for solutions, but have found none that work.
I'm sorry to say it, but goodbye Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830tz. It was nice knowing you....
