Has anybody replaced the GPU/CPU fan off their 3820TG? My GPU fan is making a grinding noise and I think it's near the end of its life. The laptop also runs much hotter now but it's also summer so that may be a contributing factor.

Anyway, does anyone know a reputable online parts store where I can get a replacement?

    TIA

If you're in the US, Acer parts may not be available for the 3820TG, since the TG was never officially sold here. Canadian parts dealers would be your best bet in you're in the US. If you're in the EU, MK is probably the best. I sold my 3820TG last year, so I'll look-see if I have a GPU fan assembly laying around.

The fan is easy to replace. Order 2 of them because it will fail again, I'm at the third cpu fan. :(

Don't you have to take everything apart? Doesn't seem easy to me

Yep. To replace the gpu fan assembly, you have to dissemble down to the motherboard, turn it over and remove the assembly. The good thing is that Acers are straight forward. Did you find a source for the parts?

I think Nick is in Germany. That have a great part source there (MK I think it's called). Since the 3820TG was never formally sold here in the US, I would look for a Canadian source of parts. JTEC, a US & Canadian supplier of Acer parts has a fan assembly for the 4820TG but I don't see anything for the 3820TG. Acer Aspire Fans - acerparts.ca I don't think the parts are interchangeable.
