    Hi!

This is my first post here so be gentle!

I just ordered a 3820t, and noticed that it will come with a 6cell battery. I see that some of the 3820tG users talk bout 9 cell batteries. Will those work with the 3820t aswell, and where can I buy it?

Welcome. This is a very friendly place so have no fear. Yes, the 9 cell fits where the 6 cell goes but sticks down an inch or so. I don't think you can buy them yet. I would ask on the 3820TG owners lounge.

Did you get a "T" model with integraged graphics only or a TG model with a dedicated GPU? So you mind telling me where you are from so we know where these are for sale?

Congratulations. You are going to love your Acer.

Hi! Thanks for the warm welcome! I got the t model with integraged graphics, sence i already have a gaming computer. I'm from Norway, and all the TimelineX models are released here I think. :)

So the 9 cell battery for 3820TG will also work for the 3820T?

And will the 3820T run HD movies well?

I am fairly sure that there is no difference bewteen the batteries for the TG and T series. I would think that the integrated graphics on the Core I processor will run them but be sure to have the latest drivers and bios. Be sure to look at the 3820TG owners thread at the begining. There are links for drivers etc.

Are the 9 cell batteries available yet ? If so, anyone know where to get one (preferably in the US) ?

currently, the only Way that i know of getting a 9 cell batteryfor the 3820 series is by hacking one together from a 6 cell (would not recommend)

Available from germany but not cheap. Almost 200 for the battery alone.

I think it would be cheaper and you would get more battery life if you just carried around a spare 6 cell or two... or three.

Hell for $200 you could buy 4 off ebay

    Also..

    New 8000mah Battery AS3820T AS3820TG AS4820T AS10B51 (eBay item 130467413195 end time 19-Jan-11 16:30:33 AEDST) : Computing

This eBay listing claims to be 8000mAh or about 88Wh there are also 66Wh batteries around the place but the real question would be whether these claims hold up in testing.

I find it difficult to believe that someone can be selling a battery which is the same size and uses the same cell technology as the original acer battery yet is almost double the capacity.

    I smell BS

That said, I have certainly been proven wrong before and I wont object if anyone would like to buy one to compare it. :D

Can anyone please advise what the part no. is for the ORIGINAL / GENUINE 9 cell battery.

I'm not interested in replacements models. I found this but it doesn't look original to me (despite what it says in the description):
