    Hi, I'm really interested in buying the Acer TravelMater 2354LM. It's cheap and has (for it's price) very good features. But before buying, I'd like to know if some of you own this Notebook and could share some experiences.

    btw: Is this the right forum or the Acer one?

    Yes, this is the right forum for Acer related questions.

    Regarding the Acer brand, I have read a few posts on Acer's support, and some have indicated having problems getting issues resolved or even getting the unit repaired under warranty. I personally don't have an Acer notebook myself, but I personally feel there's too many questions regarding their service. Now, I'm not trying to say Acer's support is the worst, I have seen and experienced my share of poor support from other manufacturers as well, but I thin kyou may have better luck with a larger brand (Acer's is fairly large, but not as big as IBM, HP, Toshiba, etc...). Just my opinion.

    Oh, and if you do decide to get the Acer, make sure there's a local repair facility nearby. Having to send you're notebook and be without it for a week or so is a negative for me. My buddy works in an Authorized repair facility that does work on IBM, HP/Compaq (business line only), Toshiba & Dell notebooks and I'm capable of dropping off the unit or repairing it myself when the part arrives. So I usually get my unit back in a couple days to a few hours (if I do the repairs myself).
