Acer TravelMate 2480 Power Button

I have a fairly new (8 months old) Travelmate 2480-2779 that I bought from a local reseller and for the past 3 months or so I can't use the power button to turn it on, it doesn't matter if I use battery or AC power it doesn't work. I know the problem is the power button inside, I can "jump" the power and turn it on, but I don't like to do that so I only do it if I absolutely have to. I usually just put it to sleep and then I restart it every morning. The computer is still under the manufacturers warranty, but the problem is to get it fixed I would have to send my computer to them and wait and wait and wait until they decide to send it back to me and I just can't be without out it for more than a few hours because I use it for work, and without it I can't work. What I want to do or know if I can do is buy the replacement part and just take it to a computer repair shop here and have them replace it for me. I assume that just the button itself can be replaced without replacing the entire board. My problem is that I just can't find anywhere to get the part so what I need to know is if anybody knows of a store online where I can find the part and have them ship it to me so I can get this fixed. I have searched and searched, but have yet to find any place that has what I need.
