Does anyone know whether the Travelmate 3282 will be made available in Europe?

I enquired about this model a few weeks ago on this forum... Didn't get a reply.

Im based in Australia at the moment. My old man moved out to China for work purposes and called me telling me about the Acer 3282. A very nice machine indeed! Pity about the ATI X1400... Wish it had an ATI X1600!

He actually went ahead and bought one. When he comes back for a holiday I'll try putting up a mini review on it...

Im pretty sure that this model is only sold in Asia. You can go to the Singapore Acer website and see this model.

I don't know if they will be released in Europe/America, and to be honest I doubt they will...

    Anyone else know anything more?

That's a pity, as I like this model more than the 5562 as it doesn't have a reflective screen and it has bluetooth (I haven't seen a 5562 in europe with bluetooth yet).

Is it common to release only one type (the Aspire) in one region and the other (the Travelmate) in another? I would have thought it would be better to have home and business models released in all countries?

No I believe that both the Aspire and Travelmate are released worldwide, just the model's are different between the regions and in what they offer...

Someone please correct me if im wrong!!

Have you thought about going onto the Singapore Acer site and finding a seller and maybe ordering one from there? I know you could get hit with import duties or whatever you have over there in America, but it might be an idea?
