I am seriously thinking about getting this laptop but I was wondering about a couple of things. The harddrive is partitioned as FAT32 and I was wondering if I could just get a Hitachi 40gig 7200 rpm notebook harddrive and have a clean install of a store bought copy of win xp. Does anyone know if this will be hard to do? Also... if I install my own copy of win xp, I can still just install the Acer drivers right? Thanks!

If you're concerned about the partition type, you can convert to NTFS if you wanted to. XP has a built-in tool to convert the FAT tables. But, you can also buy XP and a HDD and do it yourself. It shouldn't be too difficult. The drivers for the system should all be avilable online. I'd recommend downloading all the drivers and burn onto CD before reloading the OS. This way you have all the drivers you need, mainly network drivers.
